In Support of Peyrin Kao

This resolution formally condemns the suspension of Lecturer Peyrin Kao and demands his immediate reinstatement with full pay and teaching duties. It addresses concerns that Kao's suspension for Palestine advocacy represents an unjust application of Regents Policy 2301 and a threat to faculty free speech, impacting academic freedom and fair treatment within the university. The ASUC also urges UCOP to provide clear guidance on policy enforcement to protect all members of the UC Berkeley community.
