This resolution formally recognizes September 27th as Artsakh Remembrance Day at UC Berkeley, expressing solidarity with the Armenian Associated Students (ASA) and the Armenian Studies Program. It encourages the campus community to engage in educational programs and sociocultural events to raise awareness of Armenian American contributions. The ASUC urges UC Berkeley administration to send an annual campus-wide notice on the eve of Artsakh Remembrance Day to inform students, faculty, and staff of its significance and encourage participation.

I am David, part of the Regional Assembly of America. I want to thank ASUC mentors for providing a space for Cal students to feel they belong, and thank you for introducing the upcoming resolution. There have been two wars, one in 2020, with a loss of Armenian soldiers' lives. There are 23 known hostages held illegally where families have suffered by the regime. We hope that the student body will stand for the freedom and human rights of everyone.

I am an international student from Armenia. On today's agenda, there is a resolution. I will not talk about why that resolution is important, but if you are familiar with this issue, you will understand why. I thank all the co-sponsors for the passing of the resolution and for the opportunity for this type of resolution to be passed.
