Senator
As the first ASUC Senate Office representing both the Pilipinx and Pre-Health communities, the ASUC* Office of Senator-Elect Gabby Torres is committed to reimagining a campus where cultural identity, academic excellence, and student wellness are tight-knit. Rooted in kapwa, community care, and collective action, our Office works to strengthen Pilipinx community visibility, centralize professional development opportunities for Pre-Health students, and advance Womxn’s & Sexual Health Advocacy through survivor-centered, culturally grounded programming. We aim to spearhead and expand initiatives including but not limited to: political mobilizations and care home outreach with Pilipinx activist groups in the Bay, a Pre-Health RSO Summit for incoming freshmen and transfers, strategies to boost SHIP education and awareness, opportunities to advocate for more equitable and accessible academic policies for STEM students, and sexual health resource distributions and safe spaces. Grounded in grace and rooted in resilience, our Office exists to consistently uplift students as we climb.
