This resolution directs the ASUC to include a ballot proposition titled "Student Call for University-Wide Divestment from Companies Producing Military Weapons Technology" in the Spring 2026 ASUC General Elections. This proposition allows students to vote on whether the Berkeley Foundation should disclose and divest from companies producing military weapons technology. If approved by a majority of students, the ASUC President and Executive Vice President will communicate the results to the Chancellor and his cabinet, advocating for divestment.

I am a Jewish student at Berkeley, and I am speaking in support of this resolution. Berkeley is actively investing in companies that enable genocide, and these investments do not represent us. This resolution is not radical but gives us a chance to speak. This is how this resolution can begin to make Berkeley's promises a reality.
The student body has been debating divestment for years, and it is shameful that it is so long overdue. Divesting would mean taking a stance.
I am a Jewish student at UC Berkeley and I would like to speak about the same resolution. I am in support of this resolution being voted on today. I urge you to vote yes.
I am here to promote the resolution for divestment from companies involved with weapons technology. These investments are responsible for the death of Palestinians.
