In Support of an Environmental Justice Minor and Community-Engaged Environmental Justice Education

The ASUC pledges its commitment to advancing Environmental Justice (EJ) education initiatives and recognizes the need for an EJ minor at UC Berkeley. This resolution urges the Academic Senate to adopt academic pathways, including an EJ minor and a climate justice requirement, to ensure students understand the social, racial, and economic dimensions of climate change. It also calls upon the University to expand and invest in community-engaged EJ education, fostering experiential learning with frontline communities.
